All Computer Services shown as disabled?Why?

ThinkPad Windows XP POroff. S/Pk 3 unable until now to use Internet, found all ~Service In Computer Management shown as Diabled,now put these to Automatic and Enabled them.Computer back working, What could have been the cause of this. Thanks Dave
