I have defective RAM sticks causing no picture on my monitor (Atleast that's what I have concluded to. More knowledge at bottom post link). But my speaker beeps once after a short time. Is that normal?

your question is too quick

more information is needed b4 any one can give you a considered reply , but if your computer is beeping one short beep as it POST's then theres nothing wrong with your RAM

:O Are you serious? It does beep one short beet as it POST to 00 on the debugger led code but there is no picture on the monitor. Is it the video card's fault?

if there was a memory error it would be making lots of beeps continuously .

Work through the trouble shooting thread at the top of this message board

did you try reseting the CMOS? as suggested .

We have a common misunderstanding here. The POST will check the interface and communication path to the video card. It cannot check the inner workings of the card itself. For that, you need the Mark I Eyeball.

Check the monitor and video cable on another computer. If it came from a working system, recheck it anyway. It may (unlikely, but possible) have picked that instant to die.

Then test the video card on another computer.
