RAID 1 failure after drive replaced
Jun 27, 2011, 10:16 PM
Had one of my RAID 1 drives fail the other day. Replaced it with a slightly newer hard drive of the same size, 1TB, and rebuilt the RAID.
I then switched the new drive to Port 0 and the old drive to Port 1 on my Rampage III Mobo. Did this Friday.
Today...my RAID is degraded and it appears the new drive has failed. It is on a different port and everything. Sound like drive problem, meaning I got a bad one, or something else.

raid failure drive replaced

Why did you switch ports after the rebuild? I would not move ports after you have rebuilt the drive.
