Vista with tech guarentee

I was going to wait until windows 7 comes out to buy my system, but might get it soon. I am concerned about the coupon that comes with this:
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 64-bit for System Builders w/ Tech Guarantee - OEM
Includes free Windows 7 upgrade coupon

When I do a fresh install of windows, will I have to install vista and then upgrade to 7 every time? Or can I just do a clean install of 7?

upgrade to it ... i bought the same thing and for that reason am not even using win 7 yet, just too tedious for me (i need my gaming fix more than i need the upgrade to be done!)
