External hard disc power

Hello,

power is not coming to my external hard disc. i checked with another cable. but, no use.
pls let me know what is the problem

1) What kind of external hard disk?
2) What do you mean, "another cable?" Another cable between the PC and the hard disk, or another power adapter?
3) Most external drives require a power source in addition to the cable that connects them to the PC.
