Hey I'm looking at getting an ATI 4890 and im not completly sure if my psu is up to it.

My system:
CPU- AMD PHENOM II TRI CORE 720
Mobo- ASUS M3A79-T DELUXE
GFX- 9800gt
hdd- 500gb sata2
disc drive- dvdrw sata
Ram- 2gig
Wireless card

With a 500watt psu running it all would i be able to replace the 9800gt with the 4890 without problems?

Depends what 500 watt PSU, please link to it. There are many good ones that would be able to handle a 4890, however most of them are cheap and beaten by good 400 watt PSUs or they are rated at peak and are only really 350watt PSUs.

This appears to be it

eh, not so good, a corsair 400CX easily out powers it where it counts, the 12 volt rail.

A 4890 would probably be stressing it a bit. If you want to crossfire down the line(you have a great board to do so) then get this one

If you never intend to run more than a single 4890 then a 550vx will do fine
