Upgrade from 4gb to 8gb

Hey All,

I just want to get a quick answer on if anything special should be done if I want to upgrade my pc ram from 4gb to 8gb, or will it be as easy as pluging it in and Win 7 (32bit) will identify it as 8gb or a few mb lower?
My pc can handle upto 32gb ram and I have a quad core 3.2 amd phenom and a ATI 4890 1gb graphics card.
I would appreciate any help.

In order to address more than 3.5 GB of RAM, a 64-bit operating system is needed.

No. Any 32 bit windows will only use 3-3.25 gb of ram. I wouldn't waste the money unless you plan on changing to a 64 bit windows version.
