hey everyone. i'm looking to build a custom gaming computer. i don't know what to put in since cpu's and stuff have advanced so much since my last build. im planning to put in a intel core 2 quad @ 2.3Ghz, a Foxconn M61PMV motherboard, 4Gb's of DDR2 memory, and a EVGA Nvidia GeForce 9500GT video card. is this a good gaming system? i'm planning on upgrading but it would be awesome to hear what you guys have to say about this current configuration.

You'll get more meaningful advice if you edit your post and use the format in the "How to ask for new build advice" sticky at the top of the forum.

You're not going to find many people recommending Core 2 chips for new builds since AMD currently offers better bang for the buck and the new Intel i5 & i7 chips are going to be released next week.

The 9500GT is not a good card for gaming. Like shortstuff said, please edit your post. There are a lot of other things we need to know before we can fully help you.

short answer: no
long: answer, see above posts
very long answer: LGA775 is not a good choice since they are not making anymore new chips for it, the 9500GT is a POS card

though like the posts above you should use the guide to asking for new build advise
