Okay you guys, Ive build my i7. My heatsink comes in tommorow but I was wondering if I can run my pc without fan n heatsink

Install the stock HSF if you want to run, otherwise you are out of luck until your HSF arrives (you cannot run without a heatsink)

Absolutely NOT! The CPU has to have a properly functioning HSF installed.

Did your i7 come with a heatsink and fan? You can use the one that comes with it safely if you dont overclock. You will need to do a good job cleaning the CPU before you put the good one on, though. so it may not be worth the work.

Alright cool lol I got the oem version of the processor so no heatsink or fan =] guess I'll wait. Thanks frllas
