I RECENTLY UPDATED MY BIOS FROM VERS.1201 To VERS. 2101 and now i cant get amd overdrive to work at overclocking, although some features still work ok, AMD FUSION WORKS OK BUT IS LIMITED AS FAR AS OVERCLOCKING GOES. I now have to use my bios to OC . ALSO JUST FOUND OUT MY CARD READER ISNT DOING THE PLUG AND PLAY OR IMPORTING MY PICS EITHER, IS THIS A DRIVER PROBLEM OR A SIDE EFFECT OF RUNNING AMD APPS MY SPECS ARE PHENOM II X4 920 2.8 ghz OC TO 3.2 ghz on a asus m3a78-cm mobo ANY IDEAS HOW I MIGHT FIX THIS. THANKS
You probably have to install a newer version of AMD overdrive, i.e. the newest version that "gets along" with the new BIOS. I'd check for an update to the card reader drivers from the manufacturer. Either that or uninstall it from the device manager and reboot. See if that solves it (it will re-install, as windows will see it as new hardware).
THANKS ILL CHECK THAT BUT IM PRETTY SURE I HAVE THE LATEST VERSION OF AMD OVERDRIVE, ITS REALLY JUST A PAIN GOING INTO BIOS TO CRANK UP MY CPU, THIS IS A NEW MACHINE TO ME ANYHOW, COMING FROM A OLD 2007 ACER, LOL,,,WITH A PENTIUM D CPU SO IM STILL MESSIN WITH ALL THIS NEW SPEED, ALSO THE X4 920 DOES NOT COME UNLOCKED FOR OVERCLOCKING BUT I PICKED UP A THREAD ON OVERCLOCKERS CLUB WEBSITE ON USING AMD OVERDRIVE TO INCREASE MY CPU FREQ. IT WORKED FINE UNTIL I UPDATED MY BIOS THEN I LOST THAT CONTROLL OPTION IN OVERDRIVE. MY CARD READER IS NOT EVEN SHOWING UP IN MY SYSTEM PROPERTIES, IS IT LISTED UNDER USB READER IN THE DEVICE MANAGER ? THERE ARE SEVERAL LISTING FOR USB READERS INCLUDING MY HARD DRIVE I REALLY DONT WANT TO MESS UP SOMETHING. ANY IDEAS?
