I've been leaning towards AMD recently after looking at benchmarks. The difference in games is pretty much nothing. I don't really plan on OCing, but it is something I might do in the future, and if I was to it would be a very small OC. The difference between these two is about 120. I'm not sure what HDs I should run as well, raid 0, two, or just one. Games I'll be usually playing aren't too intensive- WC3/SC2/CSS/1.6/WoW/D2-3

Three things:

1.) If you are not buying until after DX11 cards come out, please look at the Core i5/i7's on the Socket 1156 to see how they play out. They may out perform both builds for price to performance (best bang for the buck).

2.) If waiting on DX11 cards to buy, why not buy a DX11 card?

3.) I would switch your hard drives to this... SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - Retail, which are faster then the WD Blacks. My one caution is they are relatively new, so I'm not 100% sold on them like WD Blacks but most people are recommending them now for builds.

Check my thread in my signature, as well... It'll give you some other ideas on possible builds and price ranges.

Well I heard the dx11 cards that first come out are gonna be overpriced big time and won't be worth the price per performance.

Apparently the 5800 series are actually going to be very affordable. I am pretty sure it is going to be like $250 for a 5870 so that is not too bad. Don't quote me on that but I can guarantee that they will have a DX11 card for less than $300 if they are smart. Price per performance is going to be great for DX11. The whole reason to wait for them is because they will own the 4800 series in terms of hardware, as well as push the prices down of the 4800 series. I would have to say you can't go wrong with waiting for DX11 even if you still go with a DX10 card since they will be cheaper.

250-300$? I Really cant believe that, even though that would be the greatest deal ever, the 58XX's are going to be around twice the performance (i assume), you'd expect them to be a bit more, unless your got those prices from a source, (link plz ;D)

Try the new i5. :)
