How to find files after system recovery failed

Hello,
I did not back up my computer before system restore and all of my wedding picture, file are gone, how do I get them back, I heard that they are not gone just buried and unseen! Help Please

Is there a specific file or date that I should type in.....I used this and it ran for 48 hours and did not find anything.......does this mean that sending to a professional and letting them do it will be better, costly to! Thank you!
