Will a 5870 fit in a Antec 300 case?

^ Yes it will...
It is shorter than the GTX 285 and the HD 4870X2...So it would fit the case...But might be a tight fit if there are any HDDs installed in the front bay...

Does any one have the actual dimensions of the card in question?

Well my bad...
The HD 5870 is 1/2 inch longer than the GTX 285...

But this review says it's length is equal to the GTX2xx series but they haven't specified the exact card...

@rc51kodiak The HD 5870 is 11" long...check the reviews

5870 is 11 inch card long just half longer than gtx 285

I had heard the same - 1/2" longer than other long cards and 11" is what I read as well.

My 8800 GTX and GTX 260 (both at 10.5 inches) fit in an Antec 300 case without "wedging" them in (no drives in that area). There's about an inch to spare.

I have a 300/GTX 260 and there is about 3/4's of an inch before you hit the HD cage... If it does not fit then all you have to do is use a dremel and modify.....

5870....

The card measures 10.5” long, an inch longer than the 4890 or the same as the 4870x2 and the NVIDIA GTX lineup.

Below is the specification for PCIE card dimension

http://www.interfacebus.com/PCIe_Card_Dimensions.html

With the budget for 5870 why not get a bigger case like 900 or Antec 902? For sure it will fit. The cooling for 900/902 will be more than sufficient for the 5870.

Its your choice...Antec specs for 300 states "nvidia 8800". There is no adjustment on the card-cage assembly. The Antec 900, 902, 1200 can accomodate the card. The HD-cage are adjustable.

I have a Antec 900, lovely case. Fans all on low cover most cooling...only issue is the dust. but the thing looks lovely.

Will the Antec 900 accommodate two 5870 cards on an ASUS Rampage Extreme II with a Cooler Master v8 cooler on the CPU?

I have a friend that has a 900 with dual 4870x2's and a V8 so it should fit. Do you have the 900 already or are you looking at cases?

While I couldn;t 100% say for sure I have a maximus Formula 2 in mine and a 8800gt and a load of space. Even considering the 4 hdds. I might have to rejog a few thigns to fit it all in but i'm sure it'll be fine!

5870 is long, ~11" from reviews on the net, some say 10.5" like anandtech, vrzone but i'm sure its 11".

I emailed Antec us n euro n us told me it "should" fit, euro told me "it won't fit if the card is 11", max supported is 10.5".

I think it will fit in Antec 300 without modding the case.

Just got confirmation.
"Hi guys!

I've registered in here to give you a final answer, because yesterday I bought the HD 5870:

YES, it will fit in the Antec 300. It's pretty close however.

Have a good time with your HD 5870 (it's a very nice card)"
