hello, I'm looking to pick up a new mother board as im doing a pretty big system upgrade I'm looking for a new motherboard that supports some of my current hardware but also will have the capability to be upgraded using a AM3 Socket CPU in the future.. what i would like is a motherboard with integrated sound and if possible wifi capabilities.. i feel a little overwhelmed with all the different brands and models but here is what i plan on putting on it for now

Amd Phenom II x4 940

Video Card: Radeon HD 5870

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

I am aware that the AMD Phenom II x4 940 is AM2+ Do all AM3 support AM2+?

if anyone can point me out to a good motherboard.. i would greatly appreciate it.. thanks

You may wish to check on your Phenom II 940. not all are AM2+, some are AM3. It makes a significant difference if its an AM3 CPU it will work with both types of socket. If its an AM2+ I don't believe it will work on an AM3 board (AM3 is DDR3, AM2+ is DDR2) In general I'd look at AMD 785G or 790 Based boards, I like Gigabyte and asus boards, though I have also been fairly pleased with my current ASRock board.
