SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming and Watching movies
PARTS NOT REQUIRED: monitor / Keyboard mouse
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg / tigerdirect
PARTS PREFERENCES: AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Black Edition Processor - Retail
OVERCLOCKING: Yes slighlty
SLI / Crossfire: Either or but i do want to be able to run 2 cards in the future (only buying 1 card now)
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: not so worried about how loud the system is, however i will need sufficient cooling because in the summer it can get really hot in my room.

I'd repost this closer to the purchase date. Tues, intel will launch the i5 which is in your budget range. By then, there will be some reviews on how well it performs compared to the 940 as its expected to have a $200 price point also. If temps are a big concern, then don't get a 125w TDP CPU. The 945 has a 95w flavor now, but its a moot discussion if you're better off with an i5 anyway.
When you do repost, please provide the resolution of the monitor you use. That has the biggest effect on the GPU we'd suggest. -

alrite ill look into the i5, and the monitor resolution is 1920 x 1080
