Budget and resolution. To ask whether nVidia or ATI is better just makes you and anyone who says either way a moron.

lol 300w psu

Reply to kelfen

HD 4670 is your best option for that PSU. It doesnt take much power at all so it shouldnt cause you any issues.

Reply to hunter315

is he out of luck?

Reply to Area51reopened

he just told me his friend has an ati4650,do they have these at walmart?

Reply to Area51reopened

is the 4670 better than the 4650?

Is he trying to rip me off?Does he really need this card to run wargame or warcraft?

Reply to Area51reopened

as a side note does he have a pci express x16 slot on the motherboard

it will look like the one second from the top (or better yet look up the motherboard and see if it does)
PCI Express Pic (Wikipedia)

Reply to mindless728

Yeah the slot is empty!he said the game is useless without a card.Is this true? His friend says it is pcie

Reply to Area51reopened

i'm assuming he's talking about World of WarCraft, which is a relatively tough game to play on older video cards. So if he has something really old, then no, he's not scamming you. You could just tell him to go play outside if you don't want to pay though. That's what I would do. ^_^

Reply to FallenSniper

as for the ripping you off, what is his current graphics card (and yes the 4670 is better than the 4650, not by much though)

Reply to mindless728

his computer is a dell optiplex 755 desktop .What does that mean? His grandmother bought it last year?

Reply to Area51reopened

how much trouble is it to install a video card?

Considering the DDR3 version of the HD4650 is almost nonexistent these days an HD4670 is much better.

Reply to jyjjy

he said it is a 2400 that his friend put in last year.what is a 2400?

Reply to Area51reopened

Lawl at this forum... I suggest for him to find a job and make him buy his own parts.

so is his 2400hd really junk as he claims!

Reply to Area51reopened

ok, so he either has 2400 XT, 2400 Pro, or intel 3100 (integrated)
it probably is needed (especially if he has the intel 3100 graphics card)

its easy to install, open case, take out the piece of metal in the back so the card can fit, plug in motherboard

Reply to mindless728

do i need any tools!

What that means is that you may need a low profile card depending on the case. Is it the one on the left in this pic or one of the other ones?

i was assuming the normal case since he has a 300w psu (all the others are 280 and lower)

Reply to mindless728

comparison of the 4670 and 2400 PRO

Reply to jyjjy

thanks mindless you been great help!i'll buy that one that is a reasonable price!

Reply to Area51reopened

well, i did post a link, click on low profile HD4650
it should be fine, and its only $55 (not bad considering many of us spend hundreds on graphics card(s))

Reply to mindless728

The other card is really much better. If your case is full size the $10 is definitely worth it.

Reply to jyjjy

well good luck, if you get stuck putting it in, just put up a thread

though do google search it first as you will more than likely find your answer

Reply to mindless728

thanks for all the help everybody!this is a great forum!
