I plan on buying the Dell 2408WFP http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monito [...] mncol;also like tomorrow.
I've seen a lot of people saying good stuff as well as bad stuff about this monitor.
Unless you get a defect model,I think its a pretty good monitor, S-PVA panel, 6ms,24".Honestly I think it should do good for me, i will do some animation, render and gaming.
It looks like a solid monitor. So what is the deal with it, is it good or bad, should I buy it or get something else???

The Lenovo L200x is a bit better looking up close because of it's tighter pixel pitch (same resolution in 22" frame so image is sharper) but it is not being made anymore. the last batches had consistency issues so buying one is risky as if you get a bad one, may be tough finding a replacement.

The Dell 2408WFP I think is the next best thing under $500 however it's known to have several issues.

1. Ya gotta spend the $89 or so for Spyder 3 Express to set it up.
2. The 1st hardware versiosn were iffy so you want the latest version which if I recall correctly, is A02

Hmm,Ok,calibrate it,im ok with that,if i dont get any input lags...
But how Im supposed to tell its hardware, where it says its version...? :??:

Calibration may or may not be needed depending on how accurate you need the colours to be compared to a standard. You may well need it for your other than gaming needs.

Which revision it is should be the latest, don't worry about that, a couple of people at least on here have it and may be able to offer advice but they have posted about it before and other forums have large threads about the monitor.

I don't have it myself, I have the HP 2475W but was considering it as it comes recommended.

The specs for the dell 2408wfp look a lot like the Samsung 245T. I have used the samsung 244T, 275T and 305T, and all were excellent. Samsung makes the panels for many other vendors, and I suspect that they keep the best examples for themselves. It might be worth looking at them:

Haven't seen that samsung, Im surprised. It does look the same as Dell.Actually they look exact on paper it just the design that changes.
Now that's another good option,thx ;)

I'll still look for more info about 2408wfp and the input lag issues...
