RAM problems

since replacing my 512mb ram with KVR400x64c3a 1Gb windows only reads 512mb, not sure if os is x63 or x32 will this make a difference?

At that amount of memory, no. 1 GB should be detected as 1 GB. Does the motherboard and OS both support 1 GB of memory?

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

The x63 OS doesn't exist. Now, independent of that, isn't problem. You need check in your BIOS if the memory is recognized.

Since it's a low density module, it should work if the motherboard supports 1GB modules. Check your motherboard's manual.
