Alright so I want to use an SSD as a boot drive. I want around 120 GB of space, and have $200CAD I am willing to spend towards it. I've done some searching for SSD's but I don't know what is good and what is bad.

Here are some deals I looked at: (I really hope i copied the right links)

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=53309&vpn=OCZSSD2%2D2VTXE120G&manufacture=OCZ%20Technology&promoid=1334

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=57631&vpn=AS599S%2D128GM%2DC&manufacture=AData%20Technology&promoid=1360

I know you don't need 120GB on a boot drive, but the programs i use most often will also be placed on there. And 120GB has some nice cushioning room. Everything else I'll put on an HDD.

EDIT: interesting the copy past links are showing different prices than the ones I see, when i click on the site to get to the page.

Does your motherboard have SATA III (6Gbps)? If so I would stick with the SATA III drives, like the OCZ Vertex 3 or the Crucial C300 and M4. If you're limited to SATA II (3Gbps), stick with the SATA II drives like the OCZ Vertex 2 or the Intel 320.

I'm currently using two Vertex 2 drives, one in my desktop and one in my laptop, and have not had any trouble with either drive.

Looks like it does support SATA III, it says I have 2 SATA 6Gb/s ports. I don't have the board with me yet.

Thanks for the fast response

EDIT: trying to give you best response, but it just keeps going to the top of the page. :(
