Do slim DVD drives use a SATA standard?

I've read that if I want to use a slim DVD drive, I will need to get a 'mini SATA' to SATA adapter. Is this true?

some will use mini sata, some wont. it depends on the drive and the computer. what computer/drive are you talking about?

I'm planning on a Zotac H67 WiFi mainboard but not sure about the DVD drive. And it can only be a slim drive.
