I have this processor with GIGABYTE GA-MA785GT-UD3H F3 BIOS.
I unlocked the 4th core using hybrid EC Firmware and and all cores function to -12% ( i tried all %, except +%, and i didnt raised vcore although it is set to auto and with 4th core it shows 1.378 V), and it sads i have AMD Phenom II x4 20 processor, but the problem apears wneh windows 7 (32-bit) loading screen apears, it loads forewer.
I left pc to load for 10 minutes, and still nothing (i never loaded windows with unlocked 4th core). I set all back to where it was and it runs normal again. Can anyone help me with this?

There's reason why that core is locked.

It means there was some kind of problem that they had to disable it... Hence its a Phenom X3 and not an X4, a defective core.

Yeah I would say thats a sign of a bad core. Guess your stuck with a tri-core, which isnt necessarily bad.

I was very optimistic abut this because on other forums people say when comp shows AMD Phenom II x4 20 you have succeded, but guess not...

Drop the vcore in the BIOS -0.05v or more and see if Windows will boot

If your PC hangs on boot no matter what settings you use then it's most likely a faulty core. Not all 720's and 550's have faulty cores, it depends on the batch. AMD did this on purpose for marketing reason's among others...

Either way you have a great CPU, don't worry about the forth core, just make sure you can get some extra speed out of it....
