The monitor is a lg 18.5" with a max resolution of 1366 x 768

That does change things a bit. Do you have any plans to upgrade the monitor any time soon? If not, I updated the build above with a 4850 which will be plenty for your resolution.

Hi shortstuff,

Thanks for your quick reply and suggested build. I would consider upgrading to a 21.5"monitor with a max resolution of 1920 x 1080 but I would have to reduce the budget of the desktop itself by about $200. What would you recommend.

I'm only willing to cut so many corners. This is the best I could come up with if you get a new monitor. It's $50 over budget.

Just compare it with NCIX and go with whoever is cheaper. You can always mix and match.

NCIX offer price match which mean all the price on newegg.ca before mail in rebate are matched. They also offer weekly sales and there is some bundle deals and extreme daily deal.

This ASUS motherboard looks comparable and is $30 cheaper (in the US).
Also there are alot of combo deals with 2x2GB Ram kits that save another $10.
