I am trying to clean the yellow ? in my device manager. They are next to :

video controller
video controller (vga compatible)
multimedia audio controller
unknown

I have video and the system seems to run fine, but no sound. I have uninstalled each of these entries, but when I reboot the system finds them again, but can't find the drivers for them. I went to Sony for help, but they don't recognize my model# vaio pcv-7752. And everywhere else has just wasted my time! Can you help? Please!

I'm dealing with this right now. Same model. Sony doesn't have anything in their site for a driver. . .
Ubuntu runs super slow on it. I have only 512 GB RAM. lspci reports the following hardware inside, and I'm looking on nodevice.com right now for the drivers. Email me if you are still looking for answers:

[SiS] 650/M650 Host (rev 01)
SiS961/2/3 SMBus
[SiS] 5513 IDE Controller (rev d0)
SiS7012 AC'97 Sound Controller (rev a0)
network: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10) 00:13.0
FireWire (IEEE 1394): NEC Corporation uPD72874 [Firewarden] IEEE1394a OHCI 1.1 Link/3-port PHY Controller (rev 01)
[SiS] 65x/M650/740 PCI/AGP VGA Display Adapter
