I've read around, but nothing to informative. My friend even told me that the 8800GT is better, but why? It has lower Bit rate, and lower VRAM...

more texturing units and shaders

The 8800GTS 640 only has 96 shader units while the 8800GT has 112 and is based on the G92 chip which has some architectural improvements over the older G80 chip the 8800GTS 640 is based. The 8800GTS 512 has the full 128 shader units and is also based on the G92 but despite it's name it really is closer in performance to the 8800GTX rather than the 8800GTS 640 .

Depends on your res and AA settings but i mean unless you are getting the 8800GT for 20 bucks there are better upgrades you should save up for. Or if you just don't like how the G80 core can't decode H.264

20 bucks? Ha! I wish! I live in the U.K so sorry to inform you we don't get super deals like that, even on ebay. The cheapest on ebay goes for around 90-100 bucks used.

He never said he thought you did. He said that unless you are getting one for 20 dollars it is a waste of money to get one. For the same price there are better cards available.

yeh, for $100 you can get a 98000GTX/GTX+/GTS250 or 4850, both of which are better than the 8800GT and much better than the 8800GTS 320/640

On the U.S site of ebay, I've seen them go for around $70 bucks the other day, the 9800GTX+ but in the U.K you'll be lucky to pick up a 8800GT for that price. (used - of ebay of course.)

As a regualr shopper and seller over there I will say it is all about chance like when I landed a 8800gtx for $32 but had to get cooler for it. Typically on the US side of ebay 8800gt have a hard time being sold at $70+ unless it is bought by some one desperate. Look up the tax laws in the UK on international purchases via paypal and start asking sellers if they are willing to ship internationally.

Most sellers will ship int, but they need to agree to ship as a "Gift" so no taxes are charged.

The only problem is, the shipping fees. By the time it gets here, it would have cost me the same price. Like, shipping somthing 1KG will cost clost to $30+ uninsured. :(

Wow that is really insane, When I sold off my 7800gs (i miss that card) it only cost me $12 to ship it to Italy and that weighed about that same. I use USPS when doing my shipping since its not as much of a gauge.

Really? Hmm. Can you check for me how much it would cost from your state to London, U.K? Would really appricate it. Also, is it freely insured?

Sure but I don't insure not even the stuff I buy since that spikes cost. Once bought a 5oz silver bar (engelhard) for $83 when I could have gotten it for 75 but that is cheap now. I'll look but with out insurance.

Ok I'll looked it guessing that the package weighs 2lb (32oz imperial) it would cost just under $18 but that is a guess.

Nope but it only took about a week and a half to get to Italy which is good compared to domestic shipping.

Reply to nforce4max

Yeah, I wouldn't want to purchase somthing thats not at least tracked. You know how people can get. My first ever sale on ebay was when I got ripped out of my $300 bucks when I sold a Motherboard/CPU/Ram combo and they guy personnally requested it not to be tracked for it to be "cheaper" to send, so I agreed. Then he butt screwed me in paypal.

Blah.

You know what the messed up part was? He filled a dispute the SAME day he made a payment into my account. And paypal didin't even care. I tried explaining it to them, that his blatently ripping me off, and nope...
