i have problem when update DirectX to9.0b from 8.0

If you are updating Direct X, is there a reason you are installing
9.0b?
You may as well go to 9.0c:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9226a611-62fe-4f61-aba1-914185249413&DisplayLang=en

Download the above file.
Reboot
Disable all unnecessary applications including antivirus.
Double-click the download and follow prompts to install Direct X 9.0c.
Reboot
