I'ma start off with my specs

MSI X58M intel x58 chipset

LG GH22NS50 Black SATA 22X DVD RW Burnee

SEAGATE 500GB Desktop Hard Drive

Intel CORE i7-920 CPU Processor 2.66 GHz

Rosewill R223-P-BK 120mm Fan ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus RS-500

Ok this has been taking me forever to try and figure out. i have a MSI X58M Mobo and when i start up my PC it turns on for 30 secs and reboots so i tried taking off the fan and when i did that it booted up every 10 secs. So i knew that there was a overheating problem right than and there because i tried everything that they said to do in that sticky thread. I tried everything, i don't know what could be the problem. I unhooked everything and put it back together and still nuthing. Can someone please give me some help. Thanks.

What Vid Card are you using?

Have you tried with one stick of RAM?

Have you tried resetting CMOS?

If its an overheating problem, it is likely to shut down, not shut down and restart.

OK, lets try and eliminate your first guess - heat.

It appears you are using the stock cooler.
- When you installed it, did you remove the plastic protector covering the thermal material?
- Can you see that all 4 black pins are visible in between the split white pins on the back side of the mobo?
- Can you see that all 8 white pins are gripping the back of the mobo to prevent the heatsink from pulling away from the cpu?
- Presumably the fan turns (when connected), so that's not an issue.

While the mobo is out of the case,
- remove the power on switch and reset switch connectors from the mobo header.
- Try to boot the PC by using a screwdriver to momentarily touch the two pins that the power on switch *was* connected to.
This eliminates case shorts and shorts in the power on and reset switches.

Have you considered the PSU. The smaller Coolermasters are, umm, excessively mediocre.

Dunno about him, jsc, but I sure did.

He said he went through all the steps in the sticky, but there's at least some we need to re-cover :)

I've tried everything. How would i know if it's a PSU problem?

By following along with me, starting with what I asked you to do in the post up above.

Ok i did everything you said. Still rebooting. I went out a bought another PSU. Still rebooting. So it's either the processor or the mobo

If you've "done everything else", and you've got it down to cpu/mobo, odds say its the mobo.

Goof luck.
