can i upgrade Pentium 4 478 socket? i think its running at 2.8MGZ ( i think it's called a norwood or northwood?)

No, if its socket 478 its time to die was a few years ago and any processor upgrades that may once have existed are likely sold out even on ebay, you are much better off just building a whole new system for about $400.

There are no powerful processors for Socket 478.They were outdated a looong time back.
Even the socket that came after it(LGA 775) is considered outdated.

Getting a new PC is the best option.

As others said get a new system,Socket 478 is outdated,also that's Northwood
