I installed a wireless card in my computer, but it somehow doesn't work. I don't really know much about computers (friend built this one for me), so what I need to know is:

1. Do I need a different wireless card, or is this one sufficient and I'm just having technical difficulty?
2. If the wireless card is not compatible or is not the fastest one available, which card should I buy?

My system is:
1. Intel Core i7-920
2. Diamond Radeon HD5970
3. Patriot DDR3 6GB 1333MHz Tri Channel
4. Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R
5. Corsair CMPSU-650TX- 650W
6. WD 750GB Serial ATA/300HD, 32 MB buffer
7. Cooler Master HAF 932
8. Lite-On 24X SATA DVD-RW Gen II
9. Netgear WG311 G PCI 54 Mbps Wireless-G PCI Adapter
10. Windows 7 Home Premium

Thanks for your time! :hello:

Can you elabourate on "somehow it doesn't work"?
How far are you. Did your computer detect the device and install drivers? Did you install the driver for the device from the internet? and now it is simply having trouble connecting or your computer is not aware of the device at all?

Yes, sorry. The card was installed, I installed the drivers from the included CD, but the computer still does not detect the card. The computer never connected to the internet.

It is not recognized anywhere. When I was doing the install, the instructions said to install the software, install the card, then reboot. A window was supposed to come up to complete the installation but nothing happened.
