Hard drive bootable docking station sata

Hello,
If it is even possible, I am looking for a HD dock that I can boot from via SATA. I have had 2 differant ones and neither of them I can boot from.
I would like to have 2 seperate hard drives that I can choose which one to boot from. Almost like dual booting which I currently am doing with Windows 7 and XP Pro. The problem is I cannot successfully create backup images in case I need to restore. From what I have read, Windows 7 overrides the boot info of XP thus I cannot restore an image on a dual boot HD.

Search for "mobile rack".
I have used such a device, and have had no problems booting from it.
The connection is normal sata and normal sata power.
