Hi,

Total noob here. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I'm trying to upgrade my power supply and don't know what's compatible. I have an HP Pavilion a1610n with the standard specs except I have the 4200+ dual core with 4 GB of RAM and an nVidia 6600 video card. The standard specs are here:

I was looking at this one:

If anyone knows if this power supply will work with my computer I would greatly appreciate it as it is on sale only through today.

Thanks,

Mark

Why do you want a 700 watt power supply? What are you going to do with your pc? Are you going to install two video cards and run them in dual mode?

No just upgrade my current card. But the price is really good.

Thanks,

yea it will work, and it should fit fine since the case uses standard PSU's....

Is there a reason you need to upgrade the PSU?

Yes, I'm upgrading my video card and the standard one isn't powerful enough.

Great! I ordered it (there were only 9 left). Thanks for the advice about the cables. I will do what you have suggested. Thank you so much for your help!
