My windows wont go on standby

I try to put my computer in stand by so that I can just come back & press any key to start using it right away & it won't turn on what do I do?

Don't use standby. Set power options to shut down monitor & HD after a period of inactivity.

So it IS going to standby, but won't come back out is that correct? Or does the standby option does not work?

Try downloading the power management options from the PC vendor. If that does not help, try a BIOS update, sometimes things like this are issues at the motherboard level.
