My CD drive is opening and closing continuously

Hey please help very strange thing is happening my CD - drive is just opening and closing aoutomatically,


I just can not install any thing from it

opening and closing happens with and without the CD in it....

I found a virus tomorrow and i removed it with KIS 2011 but it doesn't solve my problem what it should be? what i should Do about it?

if you want to confirm that it is a mechanical issue, disconnect the IDE or SATA cable from it but leave the power cable on (while ur pc is off ofcourse). if it keeps happening it is a mechanical issue. then u have to open it up, and fix the open button which is broken or stuck. it may also be a pin stuck in the emergency open button, try pushing it with another pin.

okay i will give it a try......
but turn on the pc after diconnecting the IDE cable??????

It sounds like your drive may have a slipping belt on the tray motor.
