Whats everyones opinion on go for a Phenom II X4 955 Black and I already have everything else I need, or make the jump to Intel and purchase new Motherboard also??
I want to be able to play current games on high settings I have 2 4870 512mb in crossfire...
Are you saying you cant get currently play at high settings on two 4870s?
What are your most common games?
With an athlon 64 x2 and single 9800GTX+ I can play most MMOs at high resolution. I usually drop some things to medium so I can increase draw distance.

I just saw your other thread. It sounds like even a PhenomIIx3 720 should solve your problem, if it will run in your motherboard. PhenomIIx4s are overpriced this week now that the i5 is out at $200. I would think AMD will have to drop its prices soon to keep sales going.
I cant see your xfire capable motherboard being the real issue. Its would be really cool to find a friend with a different AMD CPU you could swap in to test before you start throwing money around.
