Can you use ddr3 in ddr2 slot

thread name is self explanatory. want to get ddr3 for further upgrade purposes but only have ddr2 slots on my current motherboard. Also i can get much faster ram for about $10 less than the ddr2. i hate the inflating ram prices...

  1. No. If your board only supports DDR2 you cannot use DDR3.
  2. u will damage either the ram or th slots i fu try that
  3. all you need to do is look at the spacer gaps to see they don't line up.
