Yes, another i5 thread. Tags: New Build Systems Product Last response: September 11, 2009 3:58 PM in Systems Share flrancid September 10, 2009 7:37:02 PM Ive been lurking here for a bit.. done a lot of research here in the forums, other sites, etc. My initial goal was to spend around $800 but it looks like i'll be pushing over a grand, which is fine. Usage: gaming. Case: Antec ATX Mid Tower $54 - should be big enough. PS: Antec EarthWatts EA750 750W $95 - planning on crossfire and overclocking down the road. Processor: i5-750 $210 - for this price, and the performance you get, what an awesome deal! Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD4P $170 - i figure its nice and cheap, will do the job till next year when all the new stuff comes out. Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB DDR3 $95 - very cheap. one question: the ddr3 1600 won't work with that mobo will it? crap. HD: Western Digital 500GB 32mb cache 7200rpm SATA3 $70 Monitor: ASUS 21.5" 2ms LCD HDMI $170 - i havent seen a better deal than this anywhere else, i cant wait for this one. The OS and dvdrom I have covered. All thats left is the video card. I'm waiting for the 5000 series from ATI later this month, planning on getting the 5850. Powerfull and cheap(er). That comes to about $865 without the video card. So what do you guys think? anything I can improve upon? Would greatly appreciate any comments. If you arent planning to crossfire, as the 5xxx series will almost certainly saturate 8x bandwidth, you can drop down to a 650 watt PSU. m 0 l Proximon September 10, 2009 7:47:05 PM Yes, the 1600 will work with the MB.
