i bought my friend a power supply online, (only because he is my friend) and I got him a Coolmax CA-450 450W. Anyways when i was at his house, i noticed he lagged alot ingame, since i owe him, i wanted to gift him a video card, with my spare money

the specs for the PSU is

Max. Output Current: +3.3V@30A, +5V@45A, +12V@22A, -5V@0.5A, -12V@1A, +5VSB@2.5A

i see that the 12V rails have 22amps on them, it should be sufficient..

i was thinking of a 8800GS, Or 9400gt?
he doesn't game much after his parents put parental control on his computer,LOL

but anyways is a 12V@22 good enough for a 8800gs?

I hear 24amp is suggest for the 4650 but I would think you can get by with 22. The card specs suggest a 350-400W so you are definitely covered on that front.

And when it comes amps you don't subtract the figure that the GPU uses from the total, it isn't like wattage. Amps is a measure of the quality of the electricity flow so to speak where watts is the size of that flow.
