Hi,
I just got a retail boxed Intel core i7 cpu and an ASUS motherboard. I am not quite sure if the thermal paste would be included in the package of either the CPU or the motherboard. Does anyone have an idea?

The thermal paste is preapplied to the bottom of the stock CPU cooler. Make sure to pull the little plastic cover off prior to attaching the cooler.

lol yeah that might be a good thing to do

but i'm pretty sure it would come along with with the CPU and Heatsink packaging. Though, I'm not sure if they would include extra paste if it's preapplied.

Funny off topic (sort of) story: I once forgot to remove the protective plastic off the new cooler for my 4850, and it still did better than the stock cooler (though not good, so I quickly realized what I had done and corrected it).
