Wasn't sure where to post this, as this pertains to multiple categories but here we go.

Recently I upgraded from an 8800GTS to a 4890.. I currently have a Q6600 @ stock speed and 4 gigs of RAM that are apparently not good\meant for overclocking, and to my understanding there is quite a bottleneck. And as OCing isn't really an option (not just hardware problem, but fear of horribly damaging everything) I figured i would upgrade my CPU, motherboard, and RAM.

I've been looking around and it seems as I7s are the way to go. My question is.. Which one? I *think* I have a basic understanding of a few of them (what they're best for). Motherboard and RAM I'm pretty much at a loss for, I pretty much just go with whatever has highest rating...

This is only used for gaming, watching movies, etc.. No video encoding\decoding, or anything like that. The extent of my (fairly intensive) games are Call of duty 4 (and modern warfare 2), GTA IV, Need for Speed, and Borderlands.

Here's what I put together:

Is this good? Any suggestions\help\advice is greatly appreciated.

Ah, thanks viper. Cheaper too :)

@crazy - Like I said, I can't OC. Many reviews on my RAM say it's not meant for overclocking. I need another computer anyway, which won't have any need to be OC'd. So it works out if I upgrade.

About the 920, I'm not sure it's worth it. Considering I don't even have Photoshop, and don't do video editing. Buut, I'm not sure yet. It's between the 860 and the 920..

That's easy. Go to Newegg, find DDR3 4GB kits, and sort by rating. Or just click on this link. Look for a highly rated DDR3 1600 kit that's ~$100.

The first result is this G.Skill set. I fully trust G.Skill and I've used it in multiple builds. I'd buy it without reservation. Oh, and it's also $95.

Sorry. It's an incredible deal so I can see why they'd run out of stock real quickly.

The suggestion from Zendax is a good substitute.
