Why did this happen

Bought a new mobo, went to overclock the cpu, ran stable at 2.6ghzx2 first 24 hours, since i havnt been able to load windows, with a OC profile of 2.2Ghzx2 How did it run fine at 2.6 upon initial install of the cpu? Any help thank you
MOBO M2N68-AM PlUS Amd athlon 64X2
No changes to the BIOS

Reset your bios to factory defaults.
save and exit.
