Find out the socket type of that board and your specific x2 3800+ then you will find your answer. AMD released an x2 3800+ for sockets 939, 940 and AM2.

it is socket AM2.... but the specifications say maximum Athlon 64 3800+ (thats a single 2.4GHz CPU) , but I wanna get a dual-core chip which is Athlon 64 "X2" 3800+(thats a dual 2GHz CPU).

The mobo supports max 2Gigs of DDR2 so I was really hoping to complement it with a dual-core chip

It might work it might not work. Being an OEM motherboard, there is no way for you to update the bios. This means if it doesn't work than it never will.
I'm willing to bet it will work though.

There seem to be 2 versions of this mobo, one with only two DIMM memory slots (what I have) and one with four DIMM memory slots
