Hp media center not working

Hello, i get a black screen when I try to run the mediacenter in my hp pavilion. Any advice?

If you cannot startup in safe mode to run chkdsk on your hard drive or try a Windows restore, you will need your Windows CD to to boot from and try a repair install.

But of course, you may have a problem with RAM, in which case you could remove all but one stick, and try startup.

Otherwise you will need a Rescue CD to boot from (Download & burn on a working computer)
