I am running Win XP Pro 32 bit.

While I am getting ok performance, just like most of you, I am looking for more. I use my system mainly for gaming and I enjoy playing LOTRO right now and the graphics stutter a bit when I am in a large group of people. I also enjoy playing games like Crysis, Gears of War, Oblivion, Fallout 3 etc etc.

What would give me the most bang for my buck and be compatible with what I have? I was thinking a new video card maybe something SLI, but that would need a new PSU I think. Is that RAM good enough or should I step up to DDR3 if I can? Any help is appreciated!

ddr3 doesn really show improvement over ddr2 with core 2 chips you could sli but a single newer vid card would show improvement like a 4870/gtx 260 or 4890/gtx 275 they should be fine with your current psu if you want to get lil faster ram or an aftermarket cpu cooler and overclock your cpu a bit

The large group of people making you stutter is a CPU bottleneck as there is more for it to keep track of and that is a fairly slow quad, consider either upgrading it or OCing it. There is no good reason to upgrade to DDR3 ram with an existing build, there is minimal performance differences.

Looks like the only thing that needs to be upgraded is the video card.
Try to get those which obsidian86 said.
(GTX 275 being the most preferred one)

PSU is great.Don't worry about that.

Can you tell the monitor resolution at which you game?

I play at 1680 x 1050. The monitor's native resolution. I actually looked today and I do not even think I can run an SLI setup since my board only has one PCIE card slot. I tried overclocking it via Easytune 5 today and had to pull my CMOS battery and reset it to get it to boot again.

I think I am gonna study up a bit more and see if I can get the right overclocking done via the BIOS. Thanks for all of the input. And yeah I think I am gonna look at a GTX275 for now.
