:hello:  Im looking to overclock my cpu to 4.5ghz, im using a Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 so im unsure where certain features are that i need to enable/disable.

The things i changed are:

CPU Vcore: 1.35
Multi: 45
Internal cpu pll overvoltage: Enabled
Turbo boost: Disabled
C1E: Disabled

At first i tried Vcore on 1.32, my 3rd core failed soon as prime95 started. I changed it to 1.35 and my 4th core failed on the 56000 lucas(whatever it is) on prime95 (rounding was 0.4 expected blah blah) Am i missing something or what? My goal is to go to 4.5ghz with the power saving feature enabled, i dont want it burning away while its idle ;p.

Thanks in advance for any help, appreciated.

Do yu have UEFI BIOS? If you have UEFI you xhould be able to OC your chip by proven steps (my BIOS lets me OC my 2500K to 4.8 GHz).

If your inquiry goes unanswered for a time re-post it with a different heading.

You can increase the CPU voltage up to 1.52 volts or until your load temps reach about 70 C.

I think its fine now with vcore set to auto (1.365v) is that kind of voltage good for a 4.5ghz or is it too high?, touchbios shows my vcore at 1.33 while prime95 is running.? Thanks.
