I posted this earlier in a different category but was told that was the incorrect place to post.
anyway, here's the post from that thread.

Recently, I finished putting together my new PC.
After a few minor problems with getting everything running, it starts.

But when I go to hook the PC up to my monitor, and turn the PC on, nothing displays on the monitor.
I've tried using both VGA and DVI cables, I've tried hooking it up through my motherboard's connectors, and graphics card.

I don't know my monitor isn't detecting anything.

Any reason as to why a signal might not be getting detected?
Also, on the graphics card is a red light that lights up every so often, I'm not sure if that's bad or not, but it happens.

Sorry if this is in the incorrect category, it seemed to fit a display problem.

You need to be careful what assumptions you make.

Your PC is not "running" and it has not started. It is only receiving power.

Instead of saying that it has started, it would be far more accurate to say that you hear fans spinning or perhaps you see the hard drive activity light flickering... statements like that are more informative to us.

The answer lies somewhere in the sticky at the top of this forum:

Go through each step, in the order provided. That list is a collaborative effort of many of us here, and is quite good.

Let me know here what the outcome is, please.
