ok. i know i dont need a hige beast of a graphics card for this but as of right now i wont be doing a whole lot of gaming on the building im going to do. but i would like to have a card that can play at that resolution very very nice if need be. i plan on getting a monitor in the future but right now the build will be mostly for a htpc, but i would like to do some gaming as well every now and then. what would be the best choice for that res for games like left for dead, fallout 3, sims, any source games probably some others to but cant think at the moment.

thanks

Go with the 4770 is you might be upgrading the monitors any time soon. Otherwise the 4670 will do fine. The res your gaming at is close to 1024x768, which is easy on all cards.

for 720p i would recommend a geforce gts 250 or a 9800 gt or a ati 4770

720P is the highest of what I consider to be low res gaming. Even a 4670 will provide playable frame rates. 4850/4770/4830 would all work. (and be mild overkill.)

yeah ill think i will go with the 4670 and then upgrade to one of the new ati cards later on when the prices drop and get a monitor. the computer will mostly be for watching movies and tv shows. but i would like to play some games on it. so do you think with a athlon II X4 cpu and the 4670 i will be able to turn on aa, af etc at the res depending on the game? i dont care about fps so as long as the game play is playable and not all jittery.

Should be fine. As I said, its not a high resolution, so you should be ok.
