I have an AMD Athlon II x3 455 and was wondering if it is worth trying to unlock the fourth core? What is the worst thing that could happen? What is the highest risk? My Motherboard is a GA-970A-UD3.
Definitely worth trying, worst that could happen is it is a dead core and won't unlock. Before I got my 1055T I had the Athlon II x3 450 which I unlocked the fourth core. How you like the GA-970A-UD3? That is also the board I have.

So far I love the board. It wasn't to expensive and works great. How would I unlock my CPU through the bios? Also if the fourth core is dead could it do anything to my computer? Or could really anything bad happen to my computer while unlocking it? Also what programs should I get for unlocking it?
There is a battery on the MOBO like a watch battery...pop it out for five minutes...then put it back in and viola... BTW...pull the power cord from the PSU before resetting just as a precaution
