My homebuild won't go to post: cpu and case fans running, case leds on, CPU fan running, but no BIOS. I just get three long beeps, a short one, then a pause and it starts again.

I've tried:
booting with one stick of ram
booting with no peripherals
reset CMOS
took the HSF off and put it back on
booting with only CPU and HSF in

Still does the same thing

I forgot to connect the 2x4 power connector when i first put it together, could that have messed up my psu?

MB:GIGABYTE GA-MA785GPMT-UD2H
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W
PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12
ThermalTake LanBox Case
RAM OCZ Gold AMD Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 8-8-8-24 1.65v

3 beeps - Base 64 K memory failure

Reseat the memory.

Make sure that the contacts on the memory and the socket are clean.

Try removing one bank of memory modules at a time.

Check for a faulty memory module by trying the memory in a known good system.

Trying known good memory in the system.

Check the power supply and check for power fluctuations.

If the steps above do not resolve the problem, the desktop board may be defective. Try a different desktop board.

+1 you are on the right track with the memory.

is this an AMD motherboard? thats always a good thing to check.

Reply to neonmonkey

yes, of course it's an amd motherboard
I'm not quite that retarded ;)

took build apart and reassembled and it works perfect now (sweet!!)
seems to be the memory just needed to be reseated
what threw me off was it was actually four long beeps then one short
not three as I originally wrote, which it says in the motherboard manual is a memory problem

TANKS FOR TEH HELPZ THO
