i've got 2 screws that fit the mb standoffs that came with my Ultra m998 case.

they're identical except when looking at the underside of the screwhead.

one has a corrugated look, almost like a lockwasher effect, the other is flat & shiny on the underside. Same length, same thread.

which should i use?

i'm leaning towards the corrugated.

I've got a gigabyte ex58-ud3r mobo & all the holes that line up have metal tracings around them, I assume for grounding purposes.

Actually, I'd use the one with the smooth underside of the head. The one with a "lock washer" look try to bite into the underlying metal to establish good contact. If you do this on the soft copper fingers around the mobo holes, you might be shaving copper off the fingers. So I'd use the smooth-underside screw.

Either should be fine. What do the rest of the screws look like?

most of them are round head with a finer thread.

these other 2 (with hex head & built in washer) are the ones that fit the standoffs.

I was puzzled why the difference in the bottom of the washer when they both fit the standoffs.

i actually got a response from Ultra support on this & they said either would work.

however what paperdoc sez makes sense so I'll use the smooth.
