AMD stocks shooting up

If you noticed recently AMD stocks have shot up very fast. About 3-4 weeks ago, they were at 4 USD. As of today they are at 8.03! What i want to know is why they jumped so much today (73 cents). I didnt see any new product releases.
Also if you looked at the new Dirt 2 demo, AMD is finally advertizing !!

To me this is all awesome news (i bought at $4)

The new Radeon 5xxxx series have been doing ATI/AMD wonders and no royalty license fees to Intel any more so less loses
