APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: soon... wife's pc is safe mode only so planning on new build for me and hand me down for her.
SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: WoW is main game... Excel, DVD to Zune conversion, online video (ESPN, etc)
PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Currently have dual Viewsonic 22in VX2235wm (1680x1050).
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: would prefer NewEgg, rather spend a couple more $ and deal with one order versus multiple orders.
PARTS PREFERENCES: Intel, currently NVidia 8800 GTS x2 SLI) but open to ATI as Nvidia drivers haven't been great recently.
OVERCLOCKING: Yes
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Yes - but later on...
MONITOR RESOLUTION: , 1680x1050
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Cases won't been seen so mid tower prefered. Quiet is also a plus. I have been reading a lot of the suggestions in other posts and have the following currently. But I am willing to spend a little more or save a little more based on performance per value... Looking for biggest bang for the buck.
This is what I put together based on other posts and suggestions: There are two MB/CPU combo's in the build... but is an example of the help I am looking for... I don't mind spending the extra $30 but what am I getting... Think I would prefer a ATX MB versus Micro-ATX board though.

Why? Those drives are exactly the same, so it won't matter where you put your OS/games.
If you want your OS/games to load faster, then you'd need a faster drive (i.e. SSD) to put them in and a separate drive for storing files. Getting two drives of the same spec is pointless, might as well get a 1TB 7200 RPM drive as they perform slightly faster than their 500GB counterparts.
